The Small-Town Girl Becomes the Demon King (EP 69): The Path to the Future

The overwhelmingly large army rushes in, the dragons retaliate from the ground and the sky, but their advance does not stop.

Attai rides on the back of a golem, it catches a dragon as it dives for them. It smashes its face into the ground so hard it makes a dust cloud before it drags its face along the ground as it walks. With the power o Attai’s magical painting, it hurls the dragon back into the air.

It smashes into another dragon, they both fall out of the sky.

“Hah! Wonderful work, golem!” Attai said. “Let’s team up, you and I! Join me on my journey after this battle! It’s an offer you can’t refuse!”

As Attai was clinging onto its back to keep from falling off, she pats the golem excitedly and smiles; as the golem can’t speak any human languages, it gives her a thumbs up instead.

Several black, dog-like monsters ran around and under the two of them. They were medium-sized monsters who hunted in packs, Warrior Wolves, and on their backs ride citizens armed with bows and arrows.

They provide suppressing fire in several districts, the humans letting loose arrows as the warrior wolves dash at high speeds. They strike the heads and legs of the dragons, knocking them off balance, leaving them easy prey for the other members of the army.

“I never thought warrior wolves would be such good allies!” an archer said as he patted his war wolf on the head; it barked in return, not in anger but happiness.

Emil runs through the battlefield with a flag in hand. Even if she’s so much smaller than the rest of the combatants clashing for the Demon King or the Heroes, she rushes forward as she pleases.

At the main road leading straight to the castle, a dragon appears between the buildings. It bears its fangs and roars right in her face but Emil doesn’t stop.

Two shadows soared over Emil as she ran: a goblin and a carpenter, both wielding axes. They slash and chop up the dragon, Emil runs past it as it collapses.

“Looks like we make a good team, goblin!” the carpenter laughs heartily as they land.

“That we do!” the goblin cheers as they follow after Emil.

“Let’s all go home when this is over!” the carpenter said. “We’ll be carpenters together here in this city!”

“I couldn’t ask for anything more!”

Another dragon aims for Emil; it dives for her but the duo jump and slice off its wings before it can reach her.

Page was the first to reach the throne room. Ramiel followed suit, her body radiant with light as she dashes through the streets in the blink of an eye. As they burst through the throne room doors, they finally saw Merle and the Heroes.

“Demon King!” Page cries as he rushes in.

“Begone!” Hawkins yells as he swings his ax at him.

Page catches the handle with his blade, he pushes forward and knocks Hawkins back.

“Why are you on the side of the Demon King?!” Hawkins yell. “This is a Battle of Justice!”

The dangerous aura radiating around them keeps the others from stepping in.

Page snorts and apologizes for it before holds up his sword, the blade still glowing orange.

“This isn’t the Legend of the Hero and the Demon King!” he said. “This is a revolution for the New Era!”

“Like hell it is!” Hawkins yelled.

Hawkins’ arm muscles bulged as he brought his ax down.

Page put all his strength into his muscles in turn, their weapons slammed into each other with all their might.
