Yuri Flags with the Heroine (Epilogue): Until Death Do Us Part

Many seasons have passed since then.

It is hard to say that our life after we escaped from the Arch region was peaceful. We were constantly chased from other noble’s lands, forced to wander around and fight.

Randolph was killed in the battle with the Kingdom of Valhalla, and now there is no Marquis of Stanley.

I almost gave up on life when I heard the news. I cursed that I was reborn in this cruel world… but the feeling didn’t last long, because Genie was always there beside me. At first, I was holding Genie’s hand and pulling her along. But when I was beaten up and couldn’t move another step, Genie took over.

“You’ve always protected me,” she said, “but I also want to protect you. I’m not very strong or good at combat… but I think I can support you in another way. When you can’t walk I’ll walk for you, so don’t overdo it, Rosalind; let me take over when it’s hard, I’ll protect you. “

I abandoned my family name after our escape, so I was now calling myself Rosalind Carroll, ostensibly Genie’s sister. We had a small wedding at a church in a small village close by, with the pastor let in on our secret.

“Rosalind: do you vow to love, honor, cherish Eugenie until death do you part, in sickness and in health, for richer or for poorer?” he asked.

“Yes, I swear,” I said.

“Eugenie: do you vow to love, honor, cherish Rosalind until death do you part, in sickness and in health, for richer or for poorer?”

“Yes, I swear,” she said.

“You may now seal your vows with a kiss.”

We lifted each other’s veils and did. From that day on, we have been living as wives, supporting each other at all times.

Eventually, the war between Amelia and Valhalla became old history, ending with a victory for Amelia. The countries had some smaller conflicts after that, but we managed to survive them all. And now that we no longer have to flee, we are living alone at a house on a lake.

“So this is where you were all this time, Rosalind,” Genie said.

I was sitting on a bench by the spring, alone and thinking about the past. “Genie,” I said, “Have you finished gardening?”

“Yeah,” Genie said. “I got a lot of berries, so maybe I’ll bake a pie later. You do so love your berry pies.”

Many seasons have passed since we moved here, and we have both grown older. However, my feelings haven’t changed since I first met her. On the contrary, our bond and love is deeper than ever after all the conflicts and hardships we’ve overcome.

Even so, when we have calm days like this, my mind drifts to useless, troublesome things.

Eugenie was originally the heroine of an Otome game. There should have been a way to live happily with the handsome men who were the capture target characters.

“… Hey, do you regret it?” I asked.

“Regret what?” Genie asked.

“If you never met me… no, if you never fell in love with me, you could have had another way of life. Married a lovely man and have a child with them. I wonder if you could have had such an ordinary life.”

“What are you talking about?” Genie asked. “If I asked you that myself, what would you say?”

I shuddered at the harshness in Genie’s tone. I couldn’t live a life like that, because I valued life with Genie more than such ordinary happiness.

“No. I chose the happiness I have now.”

“Same as me,” Genie said. “We’ve been through a lot of hardships, but with you by my side… I have never regretted a single moment.”

“Genie…”

“You were so bearish at that time, but I guess you couldn’t help it, there was so much else going on… and this place looks so much like the spring in the forest by your old home.”

“It does.”

That was also the reason why we decided to stay here. A forest that lives on in our memories, where we first grew our love. A distant memory of peace and happiness that I didn’t know yet. Although it is a relaxing view, at the same time, it brings up painful memories.

I’m sure Genie knew what was happening to me. “Hey Rosalind,” Genie said. “I asked around the day before yesterday…”

“Is it okay to adopt children and raise them?” I asked.

“Yes… how about it?”

“I’ll think about it,” I said.

The war created many orphans. The village nearby has an orphanage for them and adoptive parents are always welcome.

I’m considering it now because it’s so calm and peaceful now—in short, I have too much free time.

I was a little when Genie did not say anything more after my answer. Also, I was worried that Genie might want to get pregnant and have a child by blood. But now that I’m sure that’s not the case, I say: “Let’s do it, let’s adopt some children.”

“Really?!” Genie said. “Hooray! Then I’ll write to the orphanage, so let’s go visit this weekend!”

“Yes, let’s do that.”

I sit up and say goodbye to the days of nostalgia. The days ahead would surely become very busy and very different. There is no time to look back on the past.

Despite me and Genie getting older, there are still some things we’re not getting to let just pass us by.

“Let’s go, Rosalind,” Genie said.

“Let’s, Genie,” I reply.

We hold hands as we walk together, as we had then, now, and the future, always and forever, until death do us part.

  2. Story but sweet. Wish there was more the novel delved into like different point of views. Or even a side story where Rosalind reunited with Aria. Or even a short story of how they raise there child. Otherwise, still a good story and likeable characters.

  3. Thanks for chapters.
I think this story pace is too fast and MC losing many thing too much.
Her mother died because illness, her father died because heart attack, and her brother and her homeland because of war.

    Now that’s self-centered…

Honestly really thanks for the traduction.

The story was really good but the end killed me, everybody die… her brother die and she is sad for like a second before being like “but the feeling didn’t last long, because Genie was always there beside me.” She only think about herself… She is really egoist and that bother me and the worth thing she doesn’t even feel guilty.

And then DEUS EX MACHINA !!!!!!!!!!!!!! The war is won !!!!!!!! HOW CONVENIENT !!!!!!!!

The enemies killed like all the soldier of her land without many casuality and they had a fire dragon… In the original story they have won with less than that….But miracle here her country won. Thing could have been better, she could have made a come back, like a war goddess (like the villager was calling her in the past) but now she didn’t do anything (years of intense training comming to shit…) and now she have too much free time like she said. After the war everything is chaotic and there is so many orphan and she doesn’t look to mind that. At the end she is like “yeah okay let’s adopt a child” to please Egenie, not because she really wanted too… br-uh the “villainess” is really the worst and she doesn’t even care, she live her happy life.

    1. “When i heard the news, i was devastated. Grieveng for days and nights until the sun doesn’t seem to smile anylonger; feeling guilty for it, hoping to turn back time. But then again, could i ever choose another path, knowing the end wont be what i longed most?

      I can’t, i selfisly can’t choose another.

Now… I, at least, cant be called a broken woman again. Her lone thread has sew my heart in one piece before ultimately healing me with her warmth. It wasn’t easy, it wasn’t a pretty process. But i can only thank the Divine for she is a woman of patience and love. Truly, such a villainess like me to deserve her…

      Genie,
I love you, and i hope i can truly deserve your love in the future. ”

Would it helped if it spelled like this? I am not a writer but i aim to be one! Soooooo

  7. My personal opinion is this:

The story was a little fast pace. However, it wasn’t bad either. To be honest, I liked it. There wasn’t an arrogant prince just waiting to condemn his fiancée so he could be with the Heroine, one of the many things I hate about this genre.

It’s sad that the brother had to die though. However, I have to respect him for giving himself for his sister’s happiness.

  9. I really liked the story! But I’m kind of unsatisfied, like didn’t the maid run away to Valhalla? What happened to her after? I also feel like there could have been more to the ending than that but I don’t know what exactly ahahaha. Anyway, thanks for the translation!

    1. It’s a story with a lot of flaws, unfortunately, but I still enjoy it for what it is. It’s a common problem with serialization works in that authors frequently end up not exploring interesting themes or forgetting about them. The prioritization of new and interesting things often ends up with a huge pile of “What happened to X”?
